About the CMFB - Structure

The CMFB elects its Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson from among the representatives of the EU Member States. The present Chairperson is João Cadete de Matos (NCB Portugal); the Vice-Chairperson is Joe Grice (NSI United Kingdom) . Both are elected for a 2-year term. An Executive Body of 12 persons (Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, previous Chairperson, representatives of national central banks (3) and national statistical institutes (3), one member of a national central bank or national statistical institute, depending on the constituency of the previous Chairperson, Commission, ECB) helps in the preparation of meetings of the full CMFB (normally 2 a year), in the organisation of written procedures in the course of consultations, and in the maintenance of relations with other bodies. The Executive Body serves for the term of the Chairperson. (Members of the Executive Body are included in the section "Membership".)

The secretariat of the CMFB is shared by the Commission (Eurostat) and the ECB (see address of the CMFB secretariat under the section "Contact")
