The CMFB is a European Economic Area (EEA) committee. In addition to senior central bank and government statisticians responsible for its areas of interest in the member states, it includes representatives of the European Commission and the European Central Bank (ECB). The CMFB is the forum for co-operation of EU statisticians from the national statistical institutes (NSIs) and Eurostat on the one hand, and the national central banks (NCBs) and the ECB on the other. The countries seeking membership of the EU and international organisations are invited to send observers.
